Steve Read Steve Read

Managing Director Steve Read has over 15 years experience as a management development consultant, coach and trainer.

Steve began his career with six successful years in the hospitality industry at operational and senior management levels. He is a former senior post-graduate tutor for Malpas Flexible Learning and Training Manager for Learning Curve and The Curve Ltd.

Steve manages the direction of the consultancy and maintains an active coaching and training portfolio. Managers and leaders welcome his down to earth, practical approach. Steve is not afraid of challenging the status quo if that is what is required. As a coach, he enjoys challenging and inspiring people. Inspired people deliver better business results.

Steve is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. He holds a Diploma in Performance Coaching and an Advanced Diploma in Employment Law. He is also an Adair Leadership Associate.


Rachel Read Rachel Read

Business Development Director Rachel Read has responsibility for leading Helix's growth strategy. As a marketing and new business development specialist Rachel's drive is key to the future growth of the consultancy.

Rachel has over 15 years experience with blue chip companies in marketing, service development and new product development, most recently as Marketing Operations Manager at British Sugar plc.

Rachel is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.



Adam Ireland    

Adam is an experienced learning and development professional with more than 12 years experience in professional services. Most recently, Adam was Director of Operations of the Professional Development Division at the College of Law of England & Wales. 

Adam has worked extensively in professional education and service industries with roles including Programme Director for CIPD professional qualifications for a large CIPD accredited provider, and HR and training management roles in the leisure and hospitality sectors.         

Adam specialises in working with small and medium sized businesses, providing essential advice and support in employment relations and employment law.   He also delivers bespoke training in management and leadership skills, finance for operational managers and business strategy.           

An accredited NLP Practitioner and Chartered Member of the CIPD, Adam has an MA in Law and Employment Relations.                            

    Wendy Oliver

Since 1994 Wendy has been developing people in management and leadership skills, personal development, strategic selling and account management. Previously, Wendy spent six years in senior sales management roles in the pharmaceutical and IT sectors.

Wendy provides one to one coaching to CEOs, directors, and managers in government, blue chip companies and SMEs. She supports others in defining and planning how to achieve goals and develop more effective behaviours.

She also coaches top teams and trains executives to be effective coaches.

Wendy is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and has a number of coaching qualifications.

Gareth James

Gareth has been a Human Resources consultant and advisor since 1993 following an 18-year career as a Personnel / HR generalist in the food, pharmaceutical and chemical sectors latterly as International HR Director for a sector of Rhone Poulenc.

Gareth provides HR services to public and private sector clients. He specialises in facilitation and executive coaching. The basis of much of his work developing individuals and teams involves the use of psychometrics and 360° feedback tools to improve decisions by and about people.

Gareth has studied Business and Personnel Management in Bristol, General Management at INSEAD, France and has completed a number of programmes in advanced psychometrics, assessment techniques and 360° feedback. He is a member of the Institute of Directors and Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Pam Davies

Pam has over 15 years experience in management development, training and coaching. She was a key part of the learning and development teams at Powergen, Malpas Flexible Learning, and Experian.

Pam specialises in developing leaders. She uses creative methodologies based on proven theories and processes. Her down to earth and motivational approach to training creates the optimum learning environment - fun, and focused in the real world.

Pam is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Jane Townsend

Jane has a background in linguistics and communication. She has over 15 years experience as a trainer, facilitator, coach and mentor working with private and public sector clients in the UK and abroad.

Jane specialises in developing communication and learning capability with organisations and individuals. Her practical management experience helps her apply these communication skills to organisational issues, both at strategy level, and one-to-one communication skills.

She is a qualified coach and a lead faculty coach and mentor with the Oxford School of Coaching and Mentoring, and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Jane also delivers professional coaching qualifications for the Institute. She has qualifications in communication skills and processes including certified master practitioner and trainer in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).

Rick Martin

Rick has 20 years experience in management training and development with Black Horse, Malpas Flexible Learning and GroupAMA Insurance. He has been coaching for over 6 years, helping people to develop and realise their aspirations.

He is a lively and engaging trainer and designer of training events. He specialises in train the trainer, coaching skills and presentation skills. He likes to keep his 'feet on the ground' and understand the changing issues affecting people in their careers and their wider lives.

Rick is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. He has a degree in psychology and a Diploma in Business Coaching.

Chris Goodger

Chris has over 17 years experience in management training and development in the public sector including the development of staff at the Office of National Statistics, HM Land and Registry and the Lord Chancellor's Department Headquarters.

Chris now works with a range of public sector clients on leadership development, communication skills, change management, diversity and Professional Skills for Government. He does this whilst job sharing the role of Head of Learning and Development at the Department for Transport

A Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Chris is also a business practitioner and trainer in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).
