Requirement
As the business has grown, so too has the need for a more formalised and robust approach to managing performance. It has became a high priority for Scotsdales’ departmental managers to carry out effective performance management appraisals for their staff.
Solution
A one day workshop was designed to equip managers with the background knowledge and supporting concepts, plus the practical skills they needed to appraise and rank their staff’s performance. This included:
- Performance ranking theory in the context of Scotsdales reward and recognition strategy
- Role play sessions to practice appraisal discussions, and to give and receive feedback
- Common pitfalls in performance management.
Outcomes
- All appraisals were conducted in time
- Appraisals were well received by staff
- The training has allowed managers to raise the bar, and work in partnership with their teams to improve performance
