2. Facilities Team Development Day

Requirement

As a follow-on from the HR / Facilities day, the Facilities team recognised the need to work on their own (expanded) team in order to improve team cohesiveness and effectiveness. The team needed to be perceived by the business as less of a sub-division of HR, and more as a professional service function with a multi-million pound budget. There was also the desire for the team to enjoy the time together to build stronger team bonds.

 

Solutions

One day team event, building on the HR / Facilities day, exploring team theory in greater detail, and identifying the requirements of high performing teams. The day included a facilitated session on how the team performs against the theory, what customers say about them, and changes that they want to make. The ‘fun’ element of the day involved a session at the Cambridge Cookery School, where the team collaborated in teams in a cookery challenge, creating a meal that was shared by all.
